Alistair Begg, Truth for
Life
These
resources are provided by Truth for Life, legally
incorporated in 1994 as a listener-funded
Christian ministry organized to proclaim the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, principally via radio,
but now, as you can see, also via the
Internet/World Wide Web. The radio broadcast
ministry, which can be heard by some 80 million
potential listeners across the United States,
features the bible teaching of Alistair Begg.
We
invite you to use the resources here to gain a
deeper understanding of the message given to us
in the Bible. Alistair's frequent challenge to,
"Open your bibles and see for yourself if
what I'm telling you is true," serves as his
encouragement for listeners to continue in their
efforts to understand the meaning of
God's Word in our lives

Dear
Friend,
Judy
and I began the ministry of Christian Financial
Concepts in 1976 in the basement of our home. We
had little more than a pressing burden on our
hearts from God, but our mission was simple: We
would teach people to manage money according to
biblical principles. Looking back, weare truly
amazed to see what God has accomplished over the
past 20years. We praise the Lord that what began
as a small seed planted in our hearts is now an
international ministry that is touching thousands
of lives.
Even
with this great God-given outreach, we realize we
are not equipped to effectively help all the
thousands of individuals seeking biblical
financial counsel. For that reason, CFC provides
the materials and training necessary to equip
local churches to start their own financial
ministries.
Our
desire is to see churches all over the nation,
and ultimately the world, teaching God’s
life-changing truth: We are really only stewards
and not owners of what He has entrusted to us. As
stewards, it is necessary that we be found
faithful.

- James Dobson, Focus on the Family
Focus on
the Family began in 1977 in response to Dr. James
Dobson's increasing concern for the American
family. A Ph.D. in child development (University
of Southern California), he had served 14 years
as associate clinical professor of pediatrics at
the USC School of Medicine and a concurrent 17
years on the attending staff of Los Angeles
Children's hospital in the divisions of Child
Development and Medical Genetics. What he had
seen included massive internal and external
pressures on American households, causing
unprecedented disintegration. Yet there seemed to
be no comprehensive, rational and biblically
based conception of the family for those in
greatest need.
From
a two-room suite in Arcadia, Calif., Dr. Dobson
began with radio—a 25-minute weekly program
heard on only a few dozen stations. Focus on the
Family has since become an international
organization with more than 74 different
ministries requiring nearly 1,300 employees. On
the now-daily broadcast heard on over 4,000
facilities worldwide, Dr. Dobson still explores
family issues, usually with one or more
recognized experts as guests.
Meanwhile,
other parts of the organization produce six
additional broadcasts, ten magazines sent to more
than 2.3 million people a month, award-winning
books, films and videos. Focus also responds to
as many as 55,000 letters a week, offers
professional counseling and referrals to a
network of 1,500 therapists, and addresses public
policy and cultural issues.
Dr.
Dobson's method attempts to "turn hearts
toward home" by reasonable, biblical and
empirical insights so people will be able to
discover the founder of homes and the creator of
families—Jesus Christ

Lino, A Place for You
A native
of southern Africa, David Lino was born into a Roman
Catholic home in 1948. After graduation from school and
completion of his military responsibilities, he pursued a
career as an accountant for seven years. In 1969 he asked
Jesus Christ to give him the gift of forgiveness and
salvation, and with a desire to know the Bible more
fully, he began theological training and answered a
calling into pastoral ministry. David Lino received his
Bachelor and Master of Theology degrees from the
University of South Africa. In 1972 he married his wife
Barbara, and today they have three adult children. Before
answering the invitation to become senior pastor of
Forest Cove Baptist in Kingwood, Texas, the Linos served
in associate and senior pastorates in four congregations
in South Africa.

Through the broadcast, and now this
Web Site, David hopes to enhance listeners'
personal esteem, strengthen their inter-personal
relationships and cultivate their relationship
with God. David has two ministry goals: first, to
see believers lay aside petty differences and
genuinely care for one another; and second, to
see Christians penetrate their own personal world
and reach the unchurched.
